The house at 89 Brougham Street was built in 1896 and today still looks almost exactly the same from the exterior as it did the day it was built.
The house was designed by Francis Penty, a well-known early Wellington architect and sanitary engineer.
He designed it for printer, publisher and Wellington councillor John Cole Edwards.
