April 5 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
In what is becoming an annual tradition, the Mt Victoria Historical Society is holding a ‘Victorian picnic’, in Victorian dress at the top of Mt Victoria in early autumn.
The event began as a way to commemorate an early resident, Mary Taylor, who, in 1848, headed up Mt Victoria to see if she could spot a ship that would carry a letter from Wellington to her friend back in Yorkshire, the writer Charlotte Bronte.

It’s also a great excuse to dress up in Victorian garb, and enjoy a civilised cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich!
All are welcome. We meet just below the summit. Victorian dress a must!
